My PC and several others had a problem in that for several iterations the Windows upgrades would not install, they would crash without any errors, after consulting with Microsoft they said to turn off the VT-d feature, and afterwards the upgrades installed with no errors. Strange things going on, tomorrow I will reset all the BIOS settings to it's default settings and then fix a few of the settings as needed just in case something else is flaky. The thing is since the upgrade I had powered off the machine several times and it would not work, the only thing that was different was that I turned VT-d on then later I turned it back off. This time Windows came up fine, here where things go sideways, I went into VirtualBox and checked the settings and the error that is there since the upgrade to the effect that the machine does not support virtualization was gone, so I told it to start the VM and it worked just fine, I tried all the VMs and all of them worked, even VMware worked fine. I then proceeded to turn VT-d off like they recommended and re-booted. There is a feature in the BIOS it's VT-d and it is normally turned off on a recommendation of Microsoft because it crashes the OS, so I went and turned it on and true to it's word Windows crashed while booting so I had to power off the machine. Well this is one of those situations where one scratches their head and say "What the heck?" See the "Upload attachment" tab below the reply form. Save only the first "VBox.log", ZIP it and attach it to your response. With the VM completely shut down (not paused or saved), right-click on the VM in the VirtualBox Manager and select "Show Log".Start the VM from cold-boot (not from a paused or saved state) / Observe problem / Shutdown the VM (force close it if you have to).If you can't get any VM up and running, we need to see a complete VBox.log, from a complete VM run, where the problem occurs: Update the Guest Additions (GAs) in your guest(s), if the GAs are available for a specific guest.from the Desktop shortcut or the Start menu. Re-start VirtualBox as you would normally, i.e. Select the ExtPack from the previous steps. Click on the icon with the orange, down-pointing arrow on the right. If you're going to install the ExtPack, go to File » Preferences » Extensions. At the end of the installation, choose to "Start Oracle VM VirtualBox". Right-click on the installer and select " Run-as-Administrator", even if you are the administrator. Locate the downloaded file in Windows Explorer. If you're afraid about your computer being vulnerable, pull the Ethernet plug, disconnect your WiFi, don't go browsing around.

It seemed to suck the whole Earth into it. Having broken through the thick layer of clouds it kept growing. The ball was powerful and arrogant like Jupiter. At that moment, our aircraft emerged from between two cloud layers and down below in the gap a huge bright orange ball was emerging. The sea of light spread under the hatch and even clouds began to glow and became transparent. “The clouds beneath the aircraft and in the distance were lit up by the powerful flash. One Soviet cameraman who witnessed the detonation said: It should be far enough away for them to survive.ĭurovtsev’s Tupolev was lucky to survive the blast wave from Tsar Bomba caused the giant bomber to plummet more than 1,000m (3,300ft) before the pilot could regain control. By then, the two bombers would be nearly 50km (30 miles) away. The bomb would slowly drift down to a predetermined height – 13,000ft (3,940m) – and then detonate. In order to give the two planes a chance to survive – and this was calculated as no more than a 50% chance – Tsar Bomba was deployed by a giant parachute weighing nearly a tonne. A smaller, modified Tu-16 bomber flew beside, ready to film the ensuing blast and monitor air samples as it flew from the blast zone. The Tupolev’s pilot, Major Andrei Durnovtsev, brought the aircraft to Mityushikha Bay, a Soviet testing range, at a height of about 34,000ft (10km). Novya Zemlya, a sparsely populated archipelago in the Barents Sea, above the frozen northern fringes of the USSR. The Tupolev, painted bright white in order to lessen the effects of the bomb’s flash, arrived at its target point. It was more than a metal monstrosity too big to fit inside even the largest aircraft – it was a city destroyer, a weapon of last resort. It was the result of a feverish attempt by the USSR’s scientists to create the most powerful nuclear weapon yet, spurred on by Premier Nikita Khruschchev’s desire to make the world tremble at the might of Soviet technology. Now it is better known as Tsar Bomba – the ‘Tsar’s bomb’. The bomb had become known by a myriad of neutral technical designations – Project 27000, Product Code 202, RDS-220, and Kuzinka Mat (Kuzka’s Mother). It was, physically, very similar in shape to the ‘Little Boy’ and ‘Fat Man’ bombs which had devastated the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki a decade-and-a-half earlier. The bomb was 8m long (26ft), had a diameter of nearly 2.6m (7ft) and weighed more than 27 tonnes. The Tu-95 carried an enormous bomb underneath it, a device too large to fit inside the aircraft’s internal bomb-bay, where such munitions would usually be carried. The pilot who stole a secret Soviet fighter jetīut nothing the Soviet Union had tested would compare to this. The secret nuclear bunker built as the UK’s last hope In the intervening years, their test programme had surged in leaps and starts, detonating more than 80 devices in 1958 alone, the Soviet tested 36 nuclear bombs. On 29 August 1949, the Soviets had tested their first nuclear device – known as ‘Joe-1’ in the West – on the remote steppes on what is now Kazakhstan, using intelligence gleaned from infiltrating the US’s atomic bomb programme. And the Soviets, presented with a rivalry against the world’s only nuclear superpower, had only one option – to catch up. World War Two had placed the US and USSR in the same camp, but the post-war period had seen relations chill and then freeze. The last decade had seen enormous strides in Soviet nuclear research. The Tu-95 was a specially modified version of a type that had come into service a few years earlier a huge, swept-wing, four-engined monster tasked with carrying Russia’s arsenal of nuclear bombs. On the morning of 30 October 1961, a Soviet Tu-95 bomber took off from Olenya airfield in the Kola Peninsula in the far north of Russia.
As he usually does, Costas spent his two playoff broadcasts this season (Game 1 of Braves-Dodgers with Smoltz, Game 3 of Rockies-Brewers with Jim Kaat, who was crotchety as usual) complaining, waxing poetic about the good ol’ days, and, in an exciting new twist, mispronouncing a number of player names. I honestly don’t think one person in the world other than John Smoltz really gives a shit that there are fewer pitchouts across baseball in 2018.īob Costas is, unsurprisingly, another offender. In the Braves-Dodgers series, which he called Game 1 with Bob Costas (more on him in a little bit) and Games 2-4 with Joe Davis, Smoltz has managed to complain (numerous times) about the shift, stolen bases (or the lack thereof), and pitchouts, to name just three topics. He’s hit on nearly every anti-stat cliche in a four game series, which blows my mind, because I swear that he used to be the best analyst on TV maybe a year or two ago. In an attempt to save his own bacon, Darling claimed to “love” MLB’s “ let the kids play” ad campaign, but this was something completely different. He also got upset in the seventh inning when Benintendi (him again!) dared to swing the bat in the seventh inning on a 3-0 count. During Boston’s 16-1 shellacking of the Yankees in Game 3 of their ALDS matchup, Darling got pissy about the “ unwritten rules of the game” when Andrew Benintendi stole a base in the fifth inning with the Red Sox winning 10-1. Quite frankly, it seems like a fair bit of them actually dislike baseball. The Astros so thoroughly shitkicked the Indians that I can’t tell you one thing that happened in the series.Īnd because we haven’t gotten those moments (yet, hopefully), I’ve noticed something when listening to the announcers calling the games this Postseason. Brock Holt hit for the cycle, but the Red Sox won 16-1. Ronald Acuna became the youngest player to hit a grand slam in Postseason history, but the Braves scored just three runs in the 15 innings after that, falling in four to the Dodgers. The Brewers got a walk-off win in Game 1 of the NLDS, and shut out the Rockies for the rest of the series en route to a sweep. This year, we haven’t gotten many of those moments through the first week-plus of the Postseason. Major League Baseball has had a strong couple of Postseasons over the last couple of years, with especially 20 going down in history and creating moments that will be etched into the minds of fans for lifetimes. The BYND stock price can also be influenced by market sentiment, broader economic conditions, interest rates, inflation rates and political developments. These dynamics can be influenced by fundamental factors, such as earnings announcements, new product launches, acquisitions and mergers, and other factors. Just like with any other asset, the price action of Beyond Meat stock is driven by supply and demand. Some charts will use hollow and filled candlestick bodies instead of colors to represent the same thing. It’s also important to pay attention to the color of the candle – a green candle means that the closing price was higher than the opening price, while a red candle tells us the opposite. This information makes it easier to make an informed price prediction. Each candlestick will display BYND’s opening price, closing price, as well as the highest and lowest prices that Beyond Meat reached within the 1-hour period. The chart is divided into “candles” that give us information about Beyond Meat’s stock price action in 1-hour chunks. Let’s use a 1-hour candlestick chart as an example of how this type of price chart gives us information about opening and closing prices. 1-hour, 4-hour and 1-day candlestick charts are among the most popular. Traders can view candlesticks that represent the price action of Beyond Meat stock with different granularity – for example, you could choose a 5-minute candlestick chart for extremely short-term price action or choose a weekly candlestick chart to identify long-terms trends. In addition to the simple moving average (SMA), traders also use another type of moving average called the exponential moving average (EMA). For example, a 12-day simple moving average for BYND is a sum of BYND’s closing prices over the last 12 days which is then divided by 12. As the name suggests, a moving average provides the average closing price for BYND stock over a selected time frame, which is divided into a number of periods of the same length. Courtesy Kyle Baroneĭrivers in the Sunshine State are paying an average of $3,183 a year for full-coverage policies - up 15% from 2022, according to a recent report from Bankrate. His car insurance provider said that the rate increases, among other factors, are a direct result of the more frequent extreme weather hitting his home state, Florida. Yet he's seen his car insurance rates increase from $140 a month in 2020 to his current rate of $278 a month. Kyle Barone says he hasn't had a single car accident. He expects his rates will go up again in January when his policy renews. But after investigating further the agent explained to him that a slew of recent hurricanes in Florida were behind his increase.īarone tried shopping around for better rates, but said other insurers gave him comparable or higher quotes. The agent he spoke to seemed surprised by the increase as well, he said. Baffled by the increases, he reached out to USAA’s national customer service line to see what had prompted the change. “It’s insane,” said Barone, who will soon be joining Norwegian Cruise Line as an ESG manager. While that insurance is for a 2022 Porsche Taycan, even friends of his who drive lower-end models are paying more for car insurance, he told CNN. Barone told CNN his father, who also has USAA auto insurance, but lives in Tampa, said he saw his rate almost double six months ago from $245 a month to $409 a month. He’s not the only driver dealing with this. His rate would have been at least $50 a month higher if he didn’t lower his liability coverage and increase his deductible to get a cheaper rate, he said. Then, last month, USAA increased his rate to $278 a month. Barone, who lives in Jacksonville, Florida, didn’t see another increase until February, when USAA informed him that his rate would be going up to $226 a month. When he got a new Volvo sedan in 2021 his monthly rate increased slightly to $170. In 2020, Barone, 26, was paying $140 a month for car insurance. Kyle Barone is experiencing some of that first-hand. To compensate, they’re raising rates - or, in some cases, pulling out of states that are prone to extreme weather - according to Insurify, an insurance comparison website. That’s because insurance companies have to cover more claims as a result of these events, leaving them with higher losses. That’s the biggest annual increase since 1976.īut in Florida, where extreme weather episodes are increasingly more prevalent and destructive, the cost is hitting even harder. Across the United States, the cost of car insurance is up 19% compared to a year ago, according to August’s Consumer Price Index report released on Wednesday. Kong is wildly entertaining, but it’s also something that serves as a metaphor for the way we treat each other, too. Sure, the film was developed awhile ago, but what if we subbed out monsters and inserted COVID Would we see that people are often their own worst enemies, that. Sure, the film was developed awhile ago, but what if we subbed out monsters and inserted COVID? Would we see that people are often their own worst enemies, that it’s not really the external threats that are to be feared but the ways that humanity makes selfish decisions without regarding the consequences or the way that others are hurt? Would we recognize that we’re too often driven by economics, that while someone else is maximizing on the occasion while someone else is suffering? Kong had a turbulent development, and was originally set for release on May 29. While the monsters are big and fierce – it’s easier to love Kong more quickly as a fuzzy primate versus a cold lizard – some of the humans lack … humanity or empathy. Kong, also known by the working title of 'Apex' is a 2021 American science fiction monster film produced by Legendary Pictures, and the fourth entry in the MonsterVerse, following 2019's Godzilla: King of the Monsters, acting as a sequel to both King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island. In both cases, humans are making the “Jurassic Park problem”: humanity always seems to believe it can control everything, even powers well outside its control. At Apex, Godzilla’s powers are being studied and manipulated by Walter Simmons (Bichir), who wants to hunt and eradicate Titans. Kong shows the majority of his human characteristics in interaction with Jia. Published Godzilla has several monster allies who help him in battle against various threats. His one friend is a little deaf girl named Jia who has been adopted by the scientist, Dr. I found myself missing the ground level view of Kong: Skull Island but horror director Michael Dougherty finds his rhythm and sticks to it, with a cast that includes Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Julian Dennison, Lance Reddick, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir.Īs the film opens, Kong is artificially contained on Skull Island, so that the world is safe and he can be studied. The thirty-fifth film in the Godzilla franchise, this one takes a little while to build up for the first confrontation. At over two hours long, the film gives a human backdrop to the periodic Rampage-like battles between Titans, balancing eye-popping CGI effects with the human angst stuck between colossal monsters. Kong pits two of the ‘Titans’ against each other, with humanity involved but out if its depths. The 7.4 L engine is designed to operate “Open Loop” at idle. A specific amount of time has elapsed after starting the engine. The coolant temperature is above is above a specified temperature. The 0-2 sensor has a varying voltage output, showing that it is hot enough to operate properly. The system stays in “Open Loop” until the fallowing conditions are met: 1. Run Mode: The run mode has two conditions called “open loop” and “closed loop” Open Loop: When the engine is first started and it is above 400 rpm, the system goes into “Open Loop”.) The ECM ignores the signal from the 0-2 sensor and calculates the air/fuel ratio based on the from the coolant temperature and MAP sensors. If the throttle position becomes less than 80%, the ECM returns to the starting mode. The ECM then pulses the injector at a 20:1 air/fuel mixture ratio and holds this injector rate as long as the throttle stays open, and the engine is below 600 RPM. Clear Flood Mode: If the engine floods, clear it by pushing the accelerator pedal down all the way. The ECM controls the amount of fuel delivered in the starting mode by changing how long the injector is turned “On and Off” This is done by “pulsing” the injector for very short times. This ranges from 1.5:1 at -36 degrees C (-33F) to 14.7:1 at 94 degrees C(201F) running temperature. The ECM checks the coolant temperature sensor, throttles position sensor (TPS), manifold absolute pressure map sensor and crank signal, and then determines the proper air/fuel ratio for starting. Starting Mode: When the key is first turned “ON” the ECM turns on the fuel pump relay for two seconds and the fuel pump builds up pressure to the TBI unit. The fuel is delivered under several conditions called “modes” All the modes are controlled by the ECM. Modes of operation: The ECM monitors voltages from several sensors to determine how much fuel to give the engine. Because of the constant measuring and adjusting of the air/fuel ratio, the fuel system is called a “Closed Loop” system. A 14.7:1 air/fuel ratio is required for efficient catalytic convertor operation. The sensor tells the ECM the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas, and the ECM changes the air/fuel ratio to the engine by controlling the fuel injector. The main control sensor is the oxygen (O-2) sensor, which is located in the exhaust pipe. The next generation of fuel delivers to the engines. That has a very profound effect on performance and throttle response. Repair and adjustment requires the use of very special fixtures to set the needle height and travel. This dwell signal is set between 25 to 35 degrees the optimal setting is 30 degrees. This style carburetor uses a mixture control needle to control the fuel mixture with a dwell signal generated by the ECM. This carburetor featured tamper-resistant controls to discourage readjustment of factory settings, which could affect either or both emission control and throttle response. This fuel delivery system uses a mechanical fuel pump with the addition of an inline lift pump between this pump and gas tank on some systems to help prevent vapor-lock. It is not even close to the ECM used today. This is an aspirated fuel delivery system with the addition of a mixture control system controlled by the ECM. A M4MC or EM4MC carburetor was used on most of the 1980 series engines. Ignition system information is covered in the electrical thread.
